And then there were none

So the last number I had left has gone nowhere. Yes, I know it's shocking. I called her Saturday afternoon, left a voicemail, and she got back to me a couple of hours later. We spoke for maybe 10 minutes because she was at a wedding, and we agreed that I'd call her the following day (yesterday) to reconvene our discussion. I lived up to my end of the bargain, but she never called back. I logged on to you know where because I got an unsolicited email from someone I'm not interested in, but I noticed the chick in question viewed me not longer after I called. Apparently, there was something she saw (or didn't see) in my profile the second time around that prevented her from calling back again. Maybe she realized she's looking for her partner in crime, or for someone who's as comfortable in jeans as he is in a tux...or maybe she wants a guy with a picture of himself standing in front of a Porsche in surgical scrubs (I hear those guys do very well on Jdate).

So I'm pretty much done. I have nothing on the horizon. No prospects. Not so much as an area code, let alone a phone number. But it's all good, though. My rehab can now officially begin.

Consider yourself lucky. You're JD free at last!

Be glad to end the madness.

Aw, you need a hug!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life, right? So get out there, join a volleyball team, do volunteer work, go to services, learn swing dance, join a political campaign, or do something else that will help you meet people in person!

I suggest oragami. Just out of curiosity can we all know what your profile name on Jdate is? Don't worry I won't IM or Email you. FYI I am wearing my tuxedo as I read your blog.

Rebecca, I need more than a hug, but I'll spare you the details since this ain't that kinda blog.

Ron, yes, I need to explore other options, but the services thing won't happen. Not my scene.

Matthew, I can't release that info. Not because I'm afraid you'll email me...no one else does so why should you, but I need to maintain anonymity to protect those I've mocked.

Ooh, Marc, you're so spicy! ;-)

Mocked? I don't think you have mocked anyone or anything. ;)

Hi- I stumbled upon your blog and I wanted to thank you for brightening up my otherwise boring work day with your entries- you're hilarious. I'm so sorry for your dating struggles (I met my hubby on jdate 3 yrs ago) and I can totally relate -- but you know, it's all worth it in the end when you do meet her. If you are as funny in person as you are on this blog, I don't think you'll have a problem in getting that second date. Keep plugging away!

Nay, glad my misery provides a small ray of sunshine during your dark, bleak workdays. Thanks for the kind words and the support.

I have to say, on top of shitty response rates, JDate also has one of the worst "match" algorithms I've ever seen. If you are 22, why can you get a 100% match for a girl who is 25 looking and who is looking for guys aged 26+?
