J-DONE...FOR NOW

I thought my membership to the world's greatest and most exhausting Jewish dating site ended on Saturday, but apparently I was wrong. I got an email from someone this morning that I was able to actually check. Upon further investigation, it seemed that my membership didn't officially end until around 10am this morning EST. As such, I decided to IM a few women before I was officially unable to any longer. There aren't too many people online at that hour of the morning, though. I guess people have to pretend to do a few hours of actual work each day before they can start screwing around on Jdate. The pickings were slim...very slim. But I saw a woman who has viewed me quite a few times, but I never contacted her before because ...well...I just never really wanted to. Anyway, with the clock ticking, I decided what the hell? Let me send her an IM and maybe get one last phone number before my time ran out.

In an act of what can only be defined as poetic justice, this chick, who REALLY ain't all that (both picture and profile wise), declined me. It was one of those declines where you think to yourself, "Really? YOU'RE declining ME?"

Oh well. So that's how it ends...for now. With a swing and a miss!

the "declines" from the "nothing specials" are always pretty aggravating.

Getting declined is without a doubt the perfect ending to such an imperfect jdating life. But you'll be back....They always come back.

Give yourself till at least November before you resubscribe. Maybe by then, there will be at least two or three new faces.

2 or 3 new faces by November is pushing it. Maybe by January '08.

As you know, Marc, I finally had luck with JDate after YEARS of trying with both JDate and other sites! We've been together for almost 10 months now and are moving in together in 2 months. I would say don't give up, but I know how expensive and discouraging it can be. Try some other general dating websites (Yahoo, Match), and maybe resubscribe to JDate in a few months. Hey, ya never know! Best of luck to you!

Don't think of it as a swing and a miss. Think of it as a SIGN. You need ways (other than the Internet) to meet women. Get on some team, try swing dance, do volunteer work, and yes, even go to services. I'm guessing that it will be cheaper than the $40/month you've been spending, and you'll get something out of any of those activities even if you don't get a date.
