I must have read close to a dozen profiles yesterday alone in which women claim that they're looking for a "partner in crime." When I read that in a profile, I instinctively move my mouse over the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the profile and click. I'd actually rather date a real live felon than someone who would write something so trite and cliched in her profile. At least a parolee might have some interesting stories about doing hard time in a women's prison. I'm not sure why of all the tired profile cliches the "partner in crime" one irritates me the most. Maybe because it makes no real sense. Or maybe the whole Bonnie and Clyde fantasy simply doesn't work for me.
I was sharing my thoughts on the subject with a friend, and he convinced me to let it go. He said if I eliminated women based on cliches in their profiles, I'd have no one to date. I agreed...at least for about an hour. It took that long after our conversation for me to IM a woman who was looking for a Leopold to her Loeb. She had enough semi-interesting stuff in her profile for me to overlook that hated cliche so I IM'd her...and she declined me. Maybe if I posted a mug shot, I'd have had a chance. Or maybe I should photoshop the word "WANTED" over my picture.
I think I just need to find a woman who likes to "work hard and play harder."

Seems like "Writing Completely Unorginal Profiles for Dummies" is a bestseller.
It's a bestseller for both MEN and women. Believe me.
Personally, my favorite is, "I'm as comfortable in a tux as I am in jeans and a t-shirt."
And the guys who say they like "long walks on the beach." Please.
This is why no one reads profiles. Too many are exactly the same.
my pet peeve are those profiles describing cybill and her multiple personalities:
"i want a girl who knows when to be serious but also when to laugh, who is pretty but not superficial, who is smart but knows how to be silly, who is giving but knows how to receive gracefully, who is feminine but likes to play sports, who is soft but also knows when to be tough..." ugh make up your mind!
btw.. im crazy about your blog..
i hope you find someone soon.. but also keep up this blog :P
My profile is just a collection of cliches. I truly hate the one; "I never thought I would ever do something like this".
Thanks, anonym00kie.
