Dude Kinda Looks Like a Lady

Got an email this morning from someone from one of the dating sites. It was only a few hours ago and I'm struggling to remember which site it was...that's how many of them I'm on. Anyway, I log in to view "her" and I'll be damned if this person isn't a dude. The profile said, "Woman seeking a Man," but based on the pic, "'gender confused' seeking a man" would be a more accurate description. Maybe the estrogen therapy hasn't quite kicked in yet, or maybe she just desperately needs one of those basic cable show make overs. Either way, I'm not about to find out.

I always feel a bit guilty not responding to dating site emails when I'm not interested, but I need a guarantee that my date possesses two X chromosomes.

Oh come on, Marc. Maybe she was just having a bad hair day. You should go out with him/her. If for nothing more than the story...I need something funny to read at work.

I'm with Sarah. We need to be entertained. At least ask for another pic just to make sure what his/her gender is.

Michelle, the only type of pic that would verify this person's gender is one I don't need or want to see.

I wouldn't date her either...well first because I'm a woman...but the point. You HAVE to at least respond with some bullshit that is kind.

Thanks but I don't think we have enough in common, Thanks though I just started seeing someone, Thanks but .... just something.

Tamara, there are numerous schools of thought on the old what to do when you're not interested question...to respond or not? If the person is extremely complimentary in their email, or seems genuinely sweet and sincere, I'll give 'em a polite "thanks, but no thanks." If all they send is a generic "Liked your profile, let's chat" email, I don't feel it necessary to respond. Those types of emails are strictly "copy and paste," and are the types of emails people send out like spam. This girl/guy's email was exactly that.
